Environment, Energy,

& Real Estate Law

Tokyo is the host city for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. This Olympic boom has accelerated foreigners to invest in various Japanese real estates and land development projects.

In addition, after the Fukushima Nuclear Accident, energy shifts from nuclear energy to renewable energy have been promoted by the introduction of Feed-in Tariff systems in Japan. Many investors have been investing to renewable and other energy projects in Japan. Especially, offshore wind power has attracted great attention due to its huge potential, as Japan has the sixth largest exclusive economic zone in the world.

When foreigners invest to these assets and projects in Japan, they are required to comply with environmental, energy and real estate laws. Violation of these laws may create disputes with local stakeholders and may lower the value of their invested assets and projects. We help investors and corporations to comply with environment, energy, & real estate law and to conduct the appropriate due diligence.
